JGM Perth Team Raises £1,925 for The Brain Tumour Charity at Ben Vrackie Sponsored Walk

There’s something different about spending a day with colleagues when nobody is rushing between meetings or heading to site.

On 26 June, members of our Perth team met in Pitlochry, ready to take on Ben Vrackie, in support of The Brain Tumour Charity. Four hours later, they had reached the summit and completed the challenge. Thanks to the incredible support of colleagues, clients, friends and family, raised an impressive £1,925 for the charity.

Not even the Scottish weather could make up its mind.

The day started with warm sunshine, making the climb tougher than many had expected. Around two-thirds of the way up, the route passes a loch, giving some of the team the perfect opportunity to cool down before carrying on towards the summit. By the time everyone reached the top, the views had disappeared behind thick mist, and the temperature had dropped enough for an extra layer.

The changing weather didn’t take anything away from the achievement. If anything, it made reaching the summit feel even more rewarding.

Throughout the walk, the team looked out for one another. Those finding the climb a little easier naturally slowed their pace, offering encouragement whenever it was needed and making sure everyone reached the top together. That’s one of the things that stood out most from the day. The fundraising was important, but so was the opportunity to spend time together outside the workplace, catch up with colleagues and enjoy a challenge as a team.

Back in Pitlochry, the day finished at The Moulin Hotel. Everyone could finally put their feet up and celebrate what had been achieved together. The conversations didn’t stop there either. Planning for next year’s sponsored walk has already begun, with ideas for the next location already being shared.

The fundraising total currently stands at £1,945 – a fantastic result that simply wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of everyone who chose to support the challenge. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared the fundraising page or cheered the team on before and during the walk.

Supporting local communities and worthwhile causes has always been an important part of life at JGM. Events like this are a reminder that the strongest teams aren’t built only in the office or on site. Sometimes they’re built on a hillside, helping each other through the final stretch of a climb.

If you’d like to support The Brain Tumour Charity, donations are still open and every contribution is greatly appreciated.
