The Role

This apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to begin a career within the mechanical and building services industry. As a Heating Engineer Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced engineers on projects across Scotland, gaining hands-on experience while completing your formal training.

You will learn how to install, maintain, and commission heating and mechanical systems in a variety of environments, developing the practical skills and technical knowledge required to become a qualified Heating Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist experienced engineers with the installation of heating and mechanical systems,
• Support maintenance and servicing of heating equipment and pipework,
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications,
• Assist with testing and commissioning of systems,
• Maintain safe working practices and follow company health and safety procedures,
• Attend college or training provider as part of the apprenticeship programme,
• Develop practical skills and technical knowledge through on-site experience

What We’re Looking For

• Interest in pursuing a career in heating engineering or building services,
• Good problem-solving skills and a practical mindset,
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills,
• Ability to work as part of a team,
• Good communication and organisational skills,
• Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme,
• Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
