The Role
This apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to begin a career within the mechanical and building services industry. As a Heating Engineer Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced engineers on projects across Scotland, gaining hands-on experience while completing your formal training.
You will learn how to install, maintain, and commission heating and mechanical systems in a variety of environments, developing the practical skills and technical knowledge required to become a qualified Heating Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced engineers with the installation of heating and mechanical systems,
- Support maintenance and servicing of heating equipment and pipework,
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications,
- Assist with testing and commissioning of systems,
- Maintain safe working practices and follow company health and safety procedures,
- Attend college or training provider as part of the apprenticeship programme,
- Develop practical skills and technical knowledge through on-site experience
What We’re Looking For
- Interest in pursuing a career in heating engineering or building services,
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical mindset,
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills,
- Ability to work as part of a team,
- Good communication and organisational skills,
- Commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme,
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
