Due to our continuing expansion, JGM are recruiting a Fleet Manager.

Overview:

As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient operation of a company’s fleet of vehicles. This role involves implementing safety measures, optimizing vehicle usage, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Fleet Manager plays a crucial role in minimizing costs, maximizing productivity, and maintaining the overall integrity of the company’s fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and available for use.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and analyse fleet metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of drivers, mechanics, and administrative staff.
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure staff members adhere to safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:

  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the longevity and reliability of the fleet.
  • Coordinate with drivers to schedule regular inspections and repairs.
  • Manage relationships with third-party maintenance providers.

Cost Management:

  • Develop and monitor budgets related to fleet operations, including fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and vehicle acquisition.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce operational expenses.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to fleet management.
  • Ensure that the fleet operations comply with government regulations.

Technology Integration:

  • Utilize technology to enhance overall fleet efficiency and decision-making.

Risk Management:

  • Develop and implement safety programs to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Investigate and report incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate and analyse reports on fleet performance, costs, and key performance indicators.
  • Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in fleet management or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using fleet management software and tools.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
