Due to our continuing expansion, JGM are recruiting a Fleet Manager.

Overview:

As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient operation of a company’s fleet of vehicles. This role involves implementing safety measures, optimizing vehicle usage, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Fleet Manager plays a crucial role in minimizing costs, maximizing productivity, and maintaining the overall integrity of the company’s fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Operations Management:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and available for use.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Monitor and analyse fleet metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

Team Leadership:

Lead and manage a team of drivers, mechanics, and administrative staff.
Provide training and guidance to ensure staff members adhere to safety regulations and operational standards.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Vehicle Maintenance and Repair:

Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure the longevity and reliability of the fleet.
Coordinate with drivers to schedule regular inspections and repairs.
Manage relationships with third-party maintenance providers.

Cost Management:

Develop and monitor budgets related to fleet operations, including fuel costs, maintenance expenses, and vehicle acquisition.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce operational expenses.

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to fleet management.
Ensure that the fleet operations comply with government regulations.

Technology Integration:

Utilize technology to enhance overall fleet efficiency and decision-making.

Risk Management:

Develop and implement safety programs to minimize accidents and injuries.
Investigate and report incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Reporting and Analysis:

Generate and analyse reports on fleet performance, costs, and key performance indicators.
Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in fleet management or a related field.
Strong leadership and organisational skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using fleet management software and tools.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
