Role Overview
As a Data Trainee – Structured Cabling, you will work alongside experienced engineers and gain practical, real-world experience from day one. You will learn the fundamentals of structured cabling systems – the backbone of modern IT infrastructure – while working towards industry-recognised qualifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in network infrastructure, engineering, or technical installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced engineers on live project sites,
- Assist with installation, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling systems,
- Support installation of containment systems, cable runs, and termination of data points,
- Learn industry standards, regulations, and best practices for network infrastructure,
- Assist with testing, labelling, and documentation of installed systems,
- Follow company Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices,
- Work towards an accredited Structured Cabling Systems Installation & Testing qualification,
- Gain exposure to projects across sectors including education, healthcare, aerospace, cybersecurity, and medical research
Skills & Competencies
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn,

- Interest in IT, technology, or electrical / engineering work,
- Enjoyment of practical, hands-on work,
- Good attention to detail,
- No previous experience required – full training provided,
- School leavers and college starters are encouraged to apply
Qualifications
Essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (preferred)
Desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence (or working towards one),
- Basic IT or technical knowledge (advantageous but not required)
